sum-up for the read-a-thon

So, if you haven't already posted about it, tell us how the read-a-thon went for you. Please leave a link to your post here in the comment section!

Did you finish a book?

If so, what did you finish?

How many pages did you read?

How did the reading go for you?

Did you have any major disruptions?

Would you join in for another read-a-thon later this year?

What else do you think about the read-a-thon?

  1. I'm still reading :) I've put in 7.5 hours....so I have 4.5 left to go to reach my goal. It is 3:15 here on the West Coast - I expect to finish around 9:00pm with breaks :) Updates on my blog: http://www.caribousmom.com

  3. Did I finish a book?
I read the last 51 pages of 'Work of the Angels' by Kat Goldring, which I'd started a couple of days ago, if that counts for the read-a-thon. And today I started and completed 'The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency' by Alexander McCall Smith,235 pages.

I was so fascinated by both books and caught up in the stories that it was hard to stop and take breaks to stretch my legs and get a bite or two to eat.

Major disruptions: We had a mess with the upright freezer we had to deal with before I could even get started.

Another Read-A-Thon? Great idea! Count me in. Any excuse to lay about and read all day gets my vote of approval.

  4. Well...that was fun! I finished two books, and am halfway thru another which I plan to finish tomorrow.

I finished On what Grounds by Cleo Coyle and Scarecrow by Michael Connelly. I'm half-way thru Carolyn Hart's Mint Julep Murder.

I read 380 pages + almost 6 hours of audio.

The reading went great..i took two breaks - to fix dinner, and to make my daily call to check on my elderly Mom (she knew about the challenge and her first question was "So....how many books did you read?"

I might join another one later this year (Oct looks like a good time frame).

I enjoyed the experience and got to read two new authors (Connelly and Coyle) who I will definitely be looking out for in the future.

  8. I was tired and bleary-eyed when I saw the post and thought it was a progress report on our reading so far not a sum up for the read-a-thon. Now that I can see clearly now, I just add a small addendum. I did finish two books total (456 pages) which is what I thought I probably would do. Both excellent books.
