Introduction meme

As the first members will probably be starting the Mystery Read-A-Thon around this time, here's the first post. For this, we have a short meme for you all to answer. Please take the questions to your blog and leave a link directly to the post in the comments here!

What books do you want to read during this read-a-thon?

How many books do you hope to finish?

What (if any) breaks do you intend to take?

Do you generally read lots of mysteries and thrillers or are the one of the many genres you like?

What are some of your favorite authors?

If you could make us all read one mystery or thriller for this read-a-thon, which one would it be and why?

Do you prefer series or stand alones?

  6. What books do you want to read during this read-a-thon?

I have sixteen books I've set aside to choose from. I have decided this will the time for firsts, my first read-a-thon and so I'm reading the first-in-series. However, if there were ones I've been dying to read, they would be: Murder on the Rocks by Karen MacInerney; Scoop! by Hannah Dennison; or a Daheim.

How many books do you hope to finish?

I'd like to finish four, three at least.

What (if any) breaks do you intend to take?

I have to attend my writing group so I plan to start once we finish which might be as late as 3pm then I'll read until nine or ten, breaking for necessities, go to bed and resume the reading the next morning until the twelfth hour, but I'll play it by ear.

Do you generally read lots of mysteries and thrillers or are the one of the many genres you like?

I typically read a lot of mysteries, though I do delve into sci-fi and fantasy.

What are some of your favorite authors?

Mary Stewart, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Kate Kingsbury, Joanne Fluke, Monica Ferris, and Tim Myers.

If you could make us all read one mystery or thriller for this read-a-thon, which one would it be and why?

Perhaps Nine Coaches Waiting by Mary Stewart (truly a master at suspense thrillers). It has all the elements of a thriller I find fascinating including romance.

Do you prefer series or stand alones?

There are several series I read and I do like to build long term relationships with characters. Yet, I do read anthologies and some stand alones without any problems.
